Why Choose DPC?

Oregon Health DPC was started to overcome frustrations with regular fee-for-practice services that leave both doctors and patients wanting more out of their health care. Rather than being burdened with an insurance middleman dictating treatments, a direct primary care practice can work directly with its patients to decide the best visit schedule and treatment plan.

Direct Primary Care is a new model of healthcare that focuses on putting the patient first and restoring the patient-doctor relationship. That means treating the patient when they need it, never rushing through appointments, and being proactive in creating treatment plans. Your monthly fee provides for unlimited and extended same- or next-day office visits, direct access to your doctor via phone or email, and discounted prescriptions and lab fees. Direct Primary Care delivers affordable and personal care, unparalleled by any other model.

Our Goal

As a DPC clinic, we focus on you and your health without the influence of unnecessary third party restrictions. We see far fewer patients than a traditional insurance-based practice so we can provide you the best care possible. Patients find their visits with us to be detailed and unrushed, with thorough exams and testing.

Our patient benefits include full access to care without barriers. You’ll have more time with your doctor, unprecedented access, no co-pays, and no limit on visits. This includes physicals, pediatric care, wellness education, chronic disease management, simple procedures, and more. Check out our full description of benefits here.

Benefits of Membership at our Portland DPC Practice

As a Direct Primary Care (DPC) practice, we limit the active membership in our practice to less than 600 patients. In comparison, a traditional family physician frequently manages upwards of 3000 patients with anywhere from 24-30 patients per day! The DPC model is designed to maintain fewer participants so we can provide top-of-the-line care to each and every patient. Here are some of the things you’ll have access to as a member.

Patient Portal

We offer high-quality care to kids, adults, and geriatric patients. This includes chronic disease management (diabetes, high blood pressure, etc), mental health, urgent care, sports medicine, medical weight loss, and annual physicals.

Discounted radiology and testing

You’ll be blown away by the prices we’ve negotiated for radiology services and services like in home sleep studies. We’re talking $600 for an MRI. The average cost in the insurance world is $2600. In home sleep studies for $150

Extended time with the doctor

Appointments are typically 30 minutes, but can go as long as 90. Whatever it takes to get you taken care of. Good healthcare takes time.

Coordination with specialists

If you require a consultant for specialty medical care, we will work closely with that specialist.

Greatly discounted labs

We’ve negotiated great deals with national labs to get your tests done on the cheap.

Office visits when you want them. With no fees.

Need a visit? We can usually get you a same day or next-day appointment, for no extra charge.

Greatly discounted medications

We dispense medications in-house, so we’re offering medications to you at wholesale prices. For nearly all medications, the price we offer is cheaper than your co-pay at a pharmacy. If you take chronic medications, the savings on medication might be greater than your entire membership fee.

Minor labs and procedures

For example, minor suturing, cryotherapy and skin biopsies are all included in your membership fee. If there is an extra charge for a service, you will know exactly what it is before proceeding. There are special labs and procedures that may require an additional fee. Our members receive a discounted price for these special labs and procedures
